Reimagining Industrial Style Lighting
Here at Loomlight we have been reclaiming mid century industrial lights for over a decade, carefully restoring them so they can continue illuminating modern interiors around the world once again. These high quality items, with purposeful design intent rarely need to be discarded. They are manufactured using metal which generally doesn't degrade significantly so restoring these fixtures for re-use is an ideal solution and very rewarding for us.
The problem with cheap lights
We notice the market is flooded with imported lighting fixtures that are manufactured using cheap materials and lack design innovation. These products are often cheap and compromise on quality. With a relatively short product lifecycle, these products will eventually be thrown away creating an environmental problem with waste management at landfill. Many factories in low-cost manufacturing regions have fewer regulations concerning waste, emissions, and resource usage, leading to higher environmental footprints. Products made without consideration for sustainability may contribute to pollution and excessive energy consumption.The low-cost import market is often highly competitive, with numerous players offering similar or identical products. This can lead to price wars, reduced profit margins, and limited ability for companies to differentiate their offerings based on quality or unique design.As companies race to lower costs, the market can become focused primarily on price, pushing down the perceived value of lighting products in general and making it harder for businesses that prioritize quality to stand out.

That is why we have started to design and manufacture our own line of industrial style lighting which we are calling The Fuse Collection by The Temper Factory. Our team comes together with over 30 years experience in lighting installation, design and manufacture and are dedicated to the preservation of British manufacturing, thoughtful living and purposeful design. We have a guiding principle that nothing should be thrown away, but instead maintained and passed to the next generation.
Our inspiration comes from our love of vintage industrial lighting with purposeful design intent and made using materials which last forever. At Temper, we believe in the enduring relationship & rich heritage of British craft and manufacture. By drawing on designs with timeless appeal, we seek to reimagine mid century industrial lighting, by streamlining the designs for modern interiors and adding a modern twist, creating lighting collections that fuse both form and function.
Inside our Leicestershire factory, our dedication to quality drives us to craft timeless products with British manufacturing at the core. Our lighting products are designed, assembled and shipped within the walls of our Leicestershire factory. We believe that something worth owning now is worth owning forever and our products reflect that ethos.
Modern Industrial Style Lighting
The inaugural Temper lighting collection is called 'The Fuse', a modern tube light for wall, ceiling or floor. It is designed and made in England by the team at Temper. We oversee the entire process right through to safe packaging and delivery to your door.
The machined aluminium body is supplied by our local Leicestershire supplier. It features two Edison LED filament tubes which adds a heritage element to this modern industrial style design. We assemble the light fixture in-house. This modern industrial tube light comes straight from our heads, to the factory to your door - no middleman!
The product is made using high quality recyclable materials and is offered at an attainable price. Offering fantastic value for a product thats lifecycle is continuous. By prioritising quality, sustainability, and design, Temper redefines what it means to invest in lighting. Our fixtures aren’t just products—they’re long-lasting, responsible light fixtures that will become design heirlooms to pass through generations.
